The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, issued an order (S.O. 6052(E) dated December 6, 2018) mandating that all new vehicles sold on or after April 1, 2019, must be equipped with HSRP. A subsequent amendment (S.O. 1018(E) dated February 25, 2019) extended this requirement to all vehicles manufactured before April 1, 2019.
